The San Antonio Museum of Art is housed in a historic brewery along the banks of the Museum Reach of the Riverwalk and offers both itinerant and its important collections of old and contemporary art

Come visit the San Antonio Museum of Modern Art, at the beautiful setting of San Antonio River Landing. It’s part of the celebrated San Antonio Riverwalk. The building is the careful renovation of the classic Lone Star Brewery (Texas’ first breweries). It now houses some of the best collections found in the United States.

Tuesday, Friday: 10 a.m.–9 p.m.

Wednesday, Thursday,

Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Monday: Closed

The collection sports more than 30,000 objects spanning 5,000 years of history. It includes excellent examples of:

  • Pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial and Latin American Folk Art
  • It’s Latin American art collection is one of the most thorough of the U.S.
  • Old masters and classical XVIIIth XIXth and XXth American and European art
  • Ancient Mediterranean Art including Byzantine and Egyptian artefacts and 
  • 15,000 sqft of Asian Art. One of the most impressive in the U.S.
  • Contemporary Art: Post WWII American paintings and sculptures
